Day of Prayer and Learning Offered for Families in New England Area


Family Rosary Retreat: God’s Children Now – Living and Learning Together
June 4 at Boston College High School

Family Rosary offers one-day Retreat for families in New England area to provide opportunity for families to spend time together for prayer, workshops, Eucharistic Adoration, Rosary, Mass and many fun activities. With English and Spanish-language tracks and breakouts for adults, teens and children, all members of the family will be enriched. Topics include, bullying, social media, and the challenges of finding time to pray together as a family. The Retreat will be held on the spacious grounds of Boston College High School in Boston, MA on Saturday, June 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Vigil Mass will be presided by Bishop Daniel P. Reilly, DD, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Worcester.

Keynotes speakers for the English-language track are Dr. Greg and Lisa Popcak. Dr. Popcak is a nationally recognized expert in Catholic pastoral counseling. He is the author of seven popular books integrating the faith with counseling psychology. He has hosted two television series for EWTN (For Better…FOREVER! and God Help Me!). Dr. Popcak and his wife, Lisa, host the daily, nationally-syndicated Catholic radio broadcast, Heart Mind & Strength. In addition Dr. Popcak serves as the Senior Clinician for the Catholic telephone counseling practice which provides over 4000 hrs/yr of ongoing, Catholic tele-counseling services to Catholic couples, families, and individuals around the world.

The teen track will feature Father Bob Reed of the CatholicTV Network of the Archdiocese of Boston. Father Bob is the host of the game show WOW: The CatholicTV Challenge; the reality series House+Home; he prays The Rosary with the television audience three times daily from various locations around the world; and co-hosts the network's signature talk show, This is the Day. Father Reed also provides commentary for various national and international events from installations, ordinations and papal liturgies.

The children’s program will be led by Joanne Riley, Principal of St. Mary’s School of Mansfield. As a mother and educator, Joanne will share her faith life with fun and faith-filled activities for all young children attending the retreat.

Sainthood candidate, Father Patrick Peyton, CSC, founded Family Rosary in 1942 and his mission continues today.
