"Family Dinner" Wins Gabriel Award For Best TV Drama in Religious Category


Latest Faith-based Film from Family Theater
Recognized as Program that ‘Uplifts the Spirit’

“Family Dinner” is an inspiring short film about a teenaged girl finding faith while dealing with the common problems of family expectations and peer pressure. It is also an award winner.

The stirring drama from Family Theater Productions of Hollywood was recently recognized by three Major festivals: Gabriel Awards, New York Festivals and The Telly Awards.

“Family Dinner” received the 2015 Gabriel Award in the Religious category for TV, National Release. It was recognized at the awards program sponsored by the Catholic Academy of Communication Professionals at the Catholic Media Conference in Buffalo, N.Y., in June.

The family drama was also presented with a Finalist Certificate from the 2015 New York Festivals, which recognizes the world’s best TV and Films. It was entered in the Television-Entertainment Special Program category in the Family Special group. The New York Festivals is an international competition where work is judged around the world by panels of peers.

In addition, “Family Dinner” was a Film/Video Bronze Winner at the 2015 Telly Awards in the category for TV Programs, Segments, or Promotional Pieces – Entertainment. The Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and web commercials, video and films.

“Family Dinner” is the story of Cristina who gets caught planning to sneak out to a party with a senior she’s secretly seeing. Her parents consider giving her permission but only after they meet him at a family dinner. This modern drama is about the nature of true love and selfless service.

The drama starts up-and –coming Paulina Cerrilla. She was a contestant on NBC’s “The Voice” in 2012 and was recently cast in the short film “String Theory.” Cerrilla is also a Covergirl makeup model for the Hispanic market. As a singer, she has posted videos of her music that have been seen by tens of millions of viewers.
