Family Rosary Philippines Continues to Work Closely with FRC Units in Parishes

6/6/2013

Mission staff of Family Rosary - Philippines continue their efforts to reach out to the various Family Rosary Crusade units. The most recent was with the Sacred Heart group in Binangonan, Rizal. This group has been active in the parish for the past 30 years, but was not linked to the national organization. Father Roque D'Costa, CSC, Sister Ireen Hernandez, former member, and Sister Tess Alonzo visited the group on May 17. About 30 members, including the president of the Parish Pastoral Council, attended the meeting where they learned about recent activities. This group currently has about 100 members through the coordination of local coordinators as well as a vital youth membership. They take the image of Our Lady of Fatima to homes around the parish. During these visits, families follow our mission to pray the family Rosary together and to visit the sick.

During the visit, Father Roque spoke about the life of FRC founder Father Patrick Peyton, CSC, and his lasting legacy of promoting family prayer.

Tess took the opportunity to invite everybody to attend the coming 8th FRC General Assembly on June 22 at the Pius XII Catholic Center Auditorium, with Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle as the keynote speaker. Other speakers will be Father James Phalan, CSC, and Ms. Angelique Lazo. She informed the members of the television programs produced by the Family Rosary Crusade.

Rosaries and Prayer Cards of Father Peyton were distributed after the meeting.
