International Week at the Father Peyton Center

While the world was in awe of the millions who participated in WYD in Rio, here at the Father Peyton Center in North Easton, Massachusetts, USA, we had our own international visitors beginning with 150 pro-life youth and their families from the Dioceses of Fall River, Mass., Conn., and Texas, who enjoyed food preparation and service by members of the Brazilian prayer group, Glory and Praise.

Later we hosted 17 high school students from mainland China, who viewed a segment about the teachings of Jesus from Robert Barron’s epic series Catholicism followed by comments from Father Leo Polselli, CSC, Center Chaplain and Susan Wallace on Catholic teachings as found embodied in Christian education and media, particularly our own ministry’s media materials.

One student asked, “What is Prayer”? Unlike the response of Jesus who when asked to be taught how to pray and proceeded to teach Our Father, Father Leo chose instead to refer to Jesus teachings on the Beatitudes.

Lastly we hosted Guatemalan immigrants who came from New Bedford to spend time praying, playing and having a special meal together at the Father Peyton Center.
