Bangladesh Celebrates May, the Month of Mary, with Families and Children of All Ages:

Through many activities, the Rosary was prayed throughout the country of Bangladesh. On May 1, about 115 High School girls participated in an interfaith seminar.

On May 9, a Marian seminar for teachers and catechists was held in Pirgacha Parish with more than 150 participants. Father Elias Palma, CSC, began the seminar with a prayer service and gave talks on the Life of Mary, Importance of Family Prayer, the Power and Miracles of Family Rosary Prayer. The seminar closed with the celebration of the Eucharist.

On May 11, a Marian seminar was held for about 325 students in grades 6 through 10 at the Panjora Girls School; and on May, 27, the month came to a close with nearly 70 children and parents in Tejgaon Parish.

Following the Month of Mary, staff continued with many seminars and events. On June 10, a Marian Seminar was held for more than 100 children and parents following the same format as the Marian seminar mentioned above. Of course, Rosaries and prayer cards were given to each participant.

June also brought celebrations of the 70th Anniversary of Holy Cross Family Ministries in Bangladesh. One June 23, about 1,300 parents and children gathered in Bhavarpara, Khulna Diocese gathered for a procession, Marian music and the celebration of the Eucharist with Bishop James Romen Bioragi.

Another 70th celebration took place on June 28, with about 500 parents and children in Mariampur. Joining us for this celebration were Bishop Theotonius Gomes, CSC, and Bishop Sebastian Tudu of Dinajpur Diocese.
