Each year, approximately 25,000 children and teens from Catholic schools, parishes and other Catholic organizations utilize their creative skills to illustrate a different faith-based theme. This year, the theme was Being about the Work of my Father. Students from Kindergarten through 12th grade creatively depicted in various art forms how they act in faith and follow the word of God.

The contest theme this year is based on the Fifth Joyful Mystery, Finding the Child Jesus in the Temple, when Mary and Joseph bring Jesus to the temple for the first time. Luke describes the circumstances of this event as an opportunity for the Savior to do the will of the Heavenly Father. TryPrayer 250 news

In addition to the “Try Prayer! It Works!” contest in the United States, separate competitions are conducted in Mexico, East Africa, West Africa, Bangladesh, Brazil, India, Ireland, France, Chile, Peru and the Philippines.Tryprayer 250 News

Entries are judged on content, ability to capture and interpret the theme, artistic and technical proficiency, and adherence to rules.

In the United States, up to three winners are chosen per grade: first-place winners are awarded $100 U.S., and the sponsoring organization earns $100 U.S and the “Living the Rosary” Book. Runners-up in Grades 9-12 get the “Luminous Mysteries” DVD, while Grades 4-8 receive “History & Devotion of the Rosary” Book and Grades K-3 receive the “Once Upon a Mystery” Activity Set.
