The Children’s Rosary Movement Collaborates with Holy Cross Family Ministries to Bring More Children to Rosary Prayer

7/22/2014

BeadsThe leader of the worldwide Children’s Rosary Movement, Blythe Kaufman, contacted our ministry this spring to discuss how we can collaborate and increase children’s devotion to the Rosary. A need for additional Rosaries by groups throughout the United States was identified and Rosaries shipped across the country for their upcoming special events for the month of May. Additional discussions and planning are underway as well as additional shipments of Rosaries throughout the USA and around the world.

We’ve received notes of gratitude from some of the groups and some pictures of their activities.

The group at St. Thomas Becket in Cheshire, Conn., wanted to share Rosaries with members of their parish. The children gathered to make up beautiful little packets of prayer cards, Rosaries and pictures of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Hundreds of packets were put together by the children. “To see them at work as little evangelizers for Our Lady and her Son is such a hopeful thing to see,” said Blythe Kaufman. “Their beautiful example inspired other members of the Children's Rosary to do something similar in their parishes in May.”

The Children's Rosary is a prayer group movement that was begun out of love for Our Lady and Her Son. The group encourages parishes to start groups and allow the children to lead all aspects of the gathering with simple guidance from adults. The movement began in 2011 in one parish and is now in parishes around the globe.
