Prayer, Music and Dinner in Honor of Saint Edith Stein Brockton Adult Choir

10/3/2014

Father Leo Polselli, C.S.C., Chaplain of the Father Peyton Center, North Easton, MA, USA, recently welcomed the Saint Edith Stein Adult Choir to celebrate their Tenth Anniversary.

How does a church choir celebrate its 10th anniversary? It does so with a night of prayer, music and dance all of which took place in the Father Peyton Center on Sunday, September 29. Members of the Saint Edith Stein Brockton, MA Adult Choir gathered with 200 friends and well wishers to help them celebrate.

The event opened with prayer as choir members and guests gathered around the statue of Mary in front of the center and serenaded her with song and prayer in Portuguese, French and English. A sumptuous dinner of Cape Verdean specialties followed and then selections from the Cape Verdean adult and junior choirs from Saint Edith Stein and the Haitian choir from neighboring Christ the King parish. A moving enactment of Christ’s encounter with the faithful on the shore of their native Capo Verde was offered by members of the choir.

The evening was a fitting tribute to the choir members who for the past ten years have faithfully shared their gifts and talents with the parishioners of Saint Edith Stein church.

Choir members were lavish in their praise and gratitude to Holy Cross Family Ministries and the Father Peyton Center for opening their doors and hearts and allowing the event to be held at the center.
