The Annual Albany Diocesan Rosary Celebration

Submitted by Laetitia Rhatigan, Mission - Albany

On Sunday, October 2, at the Church of the Assumption, Latham, New York, USA, Bishop Howard J. Hubbard led the congregation of more than 300 hundred in the prayer of the Rosary. The Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary were prayed, with reflections on the Scripture and prayer intentions presented by members of various parishes. The host parish of Our Lady of Assumption led the congregation in meditative music, singing with soloists’ performances. Bishop Hubbard concluded the celebration with inspirational remarks about Mary as the model disciple in her fidelity to the virtues of faith, hope and charity. A reception hosted by the Rosary Altar Society of Our Lady of Assumption parish followed the prayer. This year’s celebration was sponsored by the suburban Colonie Parishes of St. Ambrose, Latham, Our Lady of Assumption, Latham, St. Pius X, Loudonville, Christ Our Light, Loudonville and St. Clare, Colonie and the Office of Family Rosary, Albany, New York.
