‘Play ball!’ with Faith Bowl IV – A Whole New Season!

Program airs nationally in conjunction with the start of baseball season

It’s a whole new ball game for Faith Bowl IV! This one-hour program by sports celebrities will coincide with the crack of the bat and chatter in the infield this time around.

Airing April 1 for the start of the regular season of America’s favorite pastime, Faith Bowl IV will feature baseball stars and a legendary announcer. This is the fourth consecutive year that the program has been produced by Family Theater Productions in collaboration with Catholic Athletes for Christ and the Knights of Columbus.

The theme of Faith Bowl IV is “Coaches, Mentors and Parents Helping Kids Get the Most Out of Sports.” This year’s program features:

  • Vin Scully, voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Baseball Hall of Fame announcer. He was the youngest person ever to broadcast a World Series at 25. Vince received a Lifetime Achievement Emmy in 1995 and in 2000 was voted Broadcaster of the Century by his peers. He was honored with the Cardinal’s Award two years ago. He is lector for the Regular vigil mass at Dodger Stadium.
  • Mike Sweeney Jr., five-time MLB All-Star and 15-year veteran with Kansas City, Oakland, Seattle and Philadelphia.
  • Mike Sweeney Sr., a respected high school coach and father of a Major Leaguer.
  • Kristen Sheehan, Director of Play Like A Champion Today program at the University of Notre Dame, which promotes sportsmanship and participation for all kids.

The program focuses on the importance of the Catholic faith in the context of children’s sports. Advice and personal stories are shared on coaching, mentoring and parenting children through the world of children’s sports. To view the trailer >>.
