The Ministries

As a way to bring honor and glory to Mary, he began the Family Rosary in 1942 by writing to every bishop in the United States, asking them to promote the family Rosary in their dioceses. He coordinated Rosary events in more than 40 countries, gathering more than 28 million people worldwide in Rosary prayer and has influenced generations for decades.

Recognizing the power of the media to influence society, he founded Family Theater Productions in 1947, which has produced over 900 radio programs, films and TV specials.

Cause for Sainthood

Father Peyton’s Cause for Sainthood was opened on June 1, 2001. The closing of the archdiocesan inquiry on July 20, 2010, signaled the completion of a six-thousand page comprehensive report examining the holiness and heroic virtue of Father Peyton’s life.  This year, the diocesan review of a possible medical miracle attributed to Father Peyton was completed on June 28, 2011. Please pray for a favorable result while these findings are being reviewed by of The Congregation for the Causes Saints at the Vatican.
