Father Willy Raymond, CSC, National Director of Family Theater Productions visits with Gary Sinise to present the 2012 Gabriel Award for Personal Achievement. Sinise was unavailable to attend the Gabriel Presentation held during the Catholic Media Convention, as a result a personal presentation was made recently by Father Raymond at the studio during a break in filming.
The Award for Personal Achievement is presented each year in memory of Father Patrick Peyton, CSC. Sinise was chose as this year’s recipient for not only his professional work in film and television, but most importantly for his work serving veterans and children.
From his award-winning roles such as George Milton in Of Mice and Men, Lt. Dan Taylor in Forest Gump to Detective Mac Taylor in CSI:NY, Sinise has demonstrated a high integrity for his craft and has confirmed his skills as the director of Miles from Home. Sinise is commended for co-founding Operation Iraqi Children as well as his significant commitment as National Spokesperson for the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial. He was awarded the Presidential Citizen Medal for his humanitarian work supporting Iraqi children and his efforts to support the U.S Military. Family Theater Productions was honored to be part of the presentation of the Personal Achievement Award to Gary Sinise.
This year’s winner follows in the footsteps of such notable personalities as Helen Hayes (1983), Mike Farrell (2002), Ken Burns (2010), who also received this important award, sponsored in memory of media pioneer, Servant of God Father Patrick Peyton, CSC.
