Beth Mahoney is a native of New Bedford, Mass. She graduated from Notre Dame College with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Certificate in Paralegal Studies. She received a Master of Arts in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Boston College, where she also has taken postgraduate courses in Theology and Canon Law.
Beth served as a Pastoral Associate for 10 years in the Fall River Diocese. Her pastoral ministry involvement has gained her experience in hospital pastoral care, campus ministry work at high school and college levels, and crisis intervention dealing with suicide and domestic violence. She has an extensive background in retreat work and public speaking on topics relating to family prayer, family life and pastoral care concerns. She has spent some time in South America. Beth studied Spanish in Lima, Peru before moving to Chile. While living in Chile, she taught in an elementary and high school.; serving as Head of the Religion Department for the entire school and served as the school’s campus minister. She had numerous experiences in pastoral ministry during her time in Chile. She had the opportunity to tour the country and to gain life experience from her various involvements with different organizations. Beth is a member of Spiritual Directors International and enjoys accompanying people on their spiritual journey. Beth serves as the chairperson for the Communications Committee for the National Association of Catholic Family Life Ministers (NACFLM). She serves as the treasure for St. Joseph’s Conference of St. Vincent de Paul Society in the Diocese of Fall River.
Beth is the Mission Director for Holy Cross Family Ministries. She guides the mission for the North Easton office of Family Rosary, which seeks to support the spiritual well-being of the family through prayer, especially the Rosary. This ministry provides opportunities for family members to participate in retreats, conferences, seminars, parish missions and days of reflection.
