Father Peyton Family Institute Serves Poor Families in Peru

The Father Peyton Family Institute officially opened the Father Patrick Peyton Family Center in June in Canto Grande, Peru, one of the most populous and poorest suburbs of Lima. Promoting respect for life and strengthening of the family, the new center was blessed by Bishop Norberto Strotmann of Chosica, Peru.The Father Peyton Family Institute serves the Church and community by assisting families at the center, which is named in memory of Servant of God Father Patrick Peyton, CSC, founder of Holy Cross Family Ministries. Center staff will provide psychological and spiritual guidance to those who are experiencing difficulties.
“We are proud to open this new center so the good work of Father Peyton can be continued in a significant way in Peru,” said Father John Phalen, CSC, President of Holy Cross Family Ministries, who participated in the opening ceremonies. “We will help families bring healing to the past and learn how to deal with present situations. This will be a research center with a team of professionals working on family issues.” Father David Farrell, CSC, directs the Center.
The Father Peyton Family Institute is a member of Holy Cross Family Ministries, which thrives in 17 countries on five continents, making the message of prayer and family unity global. Other ministries include Family Rosary, Family Theater Production and Family Rosary International, all sponsored by the Congregation of Holy Cross. In addition to Peru, international offices are located in Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, East Africa, Haiti, India, Ireland, Mexico, the Philippines, Spain, Uruguay and West Africa.
Holy Cross Family Ministries promotes family prayer, especially the Rosary. This is accomplished in respect to the local traditions and customs of the countries. There are sessions on how to pray the Rosary, retreats, missions, weekly radio programs, televisions programs, contests and various other activities that assist families to pray.
