Sixth Annual Festival of Marian Music Underway in Peru

Family Rosary International: PeruApplications are now being accepted for the Sixth Festival of Marian Music an annual event that invites musicians from all of Peru to compose a song dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The Festival, sponsored by the Family Rosary - Peru, invites musicians to compose original works on the theme "Mother Mary, Disciple and Missionary of Jesus."
The winner will represent Peru at the 23rd World Festival of Marian Music that will take place in Guatemala in March of 2007. Family Rosary will award the Peruvian finalist with all-expense-paid trip to Guatemala from Lima. Second and third place winners will receive cash prizes, $400 and $200 respectively, and special mentions will be given to participants who provide the best interpretation, arrangement and composition. Selected songs will be included in a CD produced and distributed by Family Rosary.
The grand final of the Festival in Lima will be on October 7, 2007 in the Auditorium of Saint Ursula College in San Isidro.
