21 young adult celebrities reflect on the power of Rosary in new DVD, Rosary Stars: Praying the Gospel, that debuts Feb. 7

Free tickets can be ordered online for Hollywood premiere
A new DVD from Family Theater Productions, featuring 21 young adult celebrities praying the Rosary and reflecting on its importance in their daily lives, will debut Feb. 7 with a screening at the Pacific Design Center, 8687 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood, and in broadcasts by several Catholic TV systems throughout the country including CatholicTV, Archdiocese of Boston, Feb. 7 with live streams available at www.catholictv.org. Salt + Light Television network in Canada will start airing the program on Feb. 9.Seating to the Feb. 7 premiere screening is limited but free tickets can be ordered online at www.RosaryStars.org through Feb. 6, or until the public supply is exhausted.
Screenings are also scheduled for April 19, 2-4 p.m. at the Martin Institute on the Stonehill College campus, Easton Mass., adjacent to the international headquarters of Holy Cross Family Ministries, and on May 3, 3:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Mary in Peoria, Ill., in conjunction with the preparation period for the Peoria diocese-wide Rosary Marian Year, Aug. 15, 2009 - May 31, 2010.
Rosary Stars: Praying the Gospel features champion athletes, actors, film directors, TV hosts, recording stars, authors and lecturers who emphasize the power of daily prayer of the Rosary and encourage viewers to live the Mysteries of the Rosary daily.
This uplifting DVD features such stars as 2006 World Series pitcher Jeff Suppan; five-time Major League All-Star Mike Sweeney; actor Matthew Marsden (Rambo and the upcoming Transformer sequel Revenge of the Fallen; TV host Matt Gallant (Animal Planet’s The Planet’s Funniest Animals); humanitarian, author and Rwandan genocide survivor Immaculée Ilibagiza; and Ali Landry, an actor and former Miss America.
The DVD includes personal reflections by all 21 celebrities, teaching tools and historical timeline of the Rosary. In addition, the celebrities pray a decade the Rosary. All the features of the DVD are designed to promote a better understanding and appreciation of the Rosary and the Mysteries, especially among teenagers, young adults and families.
Rosary Stars: Praying the Gospel includes English and Spanish tracks. Ongoing marketing efforts will include complimentary web features at www.RosaryStars.org, where users will be able to post personal Rosary reflections online, view celebrity biographies and photos, and get further insights into praying the Rosary. Screening event kits and fund-raising kits will be downloadable from the web for sales of the DVD by youth groups, schools, parishes and other religious organizations.
Rosary Stars: Praying the Gospel includes all 20 Mysteries – Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious – and is being released in 2009 in conjunction with the year-long celebration of the 100th anniversary of Father Peyton’s birth. This DVD honors his memory and continues his mission of encouraging daily family prayer, especially the Rosary.
