In Loving Memory: Fr. Wilfred "Willy" Raymond, C.S.C.

1943 – 2026

Holy Cross Family Ministries mourns the sudden passing of our President Emeritus, Father Willy Raymond, C.S.C., who entered eternal life on February 16, 2026. A devoted priest, a joyful communicator, and a tireless advocate for the Family Rosary, Father Willy leaves behind a legacy of faith that spanned from the halls of Stonehill College to the studios of Hollywood.

A Life of Faithful Service

Early Life: A native of Old Town, Maine; the eighth of 12 children.

Education: Alumnus of Stonehill College (’67) and the University of Notre Dame (’71).

Ministry: Served in leadership at Stonehill College, the Holy Cross Congregation, and as National Director of Family Theater Productions in Hollywood.

HCFM Leadership: Served as President of Holy Cross Family Ministries from 2014–2022, carrying forward the mission of his dear friend, Venerable Patrick Peyton.

"Humble, Hungry, and Smart"

Father Willy was known for his ability to make friends across the globe, his fluency in three languages, and his famous sportsmanship—remaining a diehard Boston Red Sox fan even while serving as Chaplain for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

As our current President, Fr. Fred Jenga, C.S.C., noted: “He knew how to make friends and how to keep them... he taught all to be ‘humble, hungry, and smart’ in their ministry.”
